FC extend long-term with Fynn Schenten

1/29/2026

1. FC Köln have extended the contract of academy talent, Fynn Schenten. The 18-year-old forward, who made his Bundesliga debut against 1. FC Heidenheim at the start of the year, has signed a deal until 2030.

Fynn Schenten has been with FC since the age of 8 and has made his way through all academy teams at Geißbockheim. Last season, he was part of the team that won the under-19 German Championship. Schenten scored nine times throughout the season as FC beat Bayer Leverkusen 5:4 in the final to secure their participation in the Youth League.

Stefan Ruthenbeck’s side have made it to the last 32 of the competition and will play in front of a sold-out RheinEnergieSTADION against Inter Milan on Wednesday. On the way to the last 32, he has scored five goals in four games and will be part of the squad against the Italians.

“Fynn has been on a model path. He has grown up at Geißbockheim and gained attention with strong performances in the U19s. As a reward, he was given the chance to train with the first-team before the winter break and was able to show himself in the Winter training camp. He did very well and, as a result, gained his first Bundesliga minutes. We believe he has what it takes to establish himself at this level in the long term and want to support him on this journey,” said FC Technical Director, Lukas Berg.

“Before I came to Köln, I had only played football for a few months in my village, so FC is my hometown club. Both as a player and as a fan, I've been able to experience some really cool moments here that I'm proud of. Celebrating the promotion of the first-team in the stadium on the same day of our German Championship win was unforgettable. It is a great honour, but also a responsibility, for me to sign my first professional contract here – because now it's time to move on, there are goals that I will work hard to achieve,” said Fynn Schenten.
